This is lesson #1 in the “Direct Contact” series.  We need knowledge, faith, and belief to predict what will happen if certain conditions are established through preparation, such as why lightning may strike a tree.  But until there is direct contact there is no impact or change.  Scientific knowledge of the power of lightning is not enough.  Faith or belief in the scientific power of lightning is not either.  Predicting a tree would be hit because of its height or position would not.  Prayer or asking for a tree to have direct contact with the lightning does not change it.  Preparing a tree so it might get hit does not.  Until a tree is actually struck by lightning there is no impact or change.  So it is with spiritual things.  Consider the three experiences discussed in The Bible: the wealthy Shunamite, Zacchaeus, and the day of Pentecost.  All these things happened when they happened: until direct contact was made there was no life, salvation, power, or revival.  How long has it been since you have had a direct contact with Jesus that marks and changes you for a lifetime?  Featured speaker is Pastor David G.
